Adam is so accustomed to me taking pictures of the children or him with the children. So this took him by a little bit of a surprise when I snapped a shot of him doing yoga. One of my favorite poses:
February 3 Today was the 100th Day of School celebrations. The 1st grade classes were given the assignment of making a project out of 100 of anything that they wanted. Dustin knew immediately that he wanted to make something with 100 sticks. I asked him if he had any other ideas to make sure that I was prepared with the right supplies, since I did not want to have to run to Walmart any more times than necessary. He insisted that he wanted to do sticks because "I want to save money, mommy."
I was excited to comply with his request. He was hard at work making his stick house. He worked so hard and wanted to be sure that others respected his hard work. So he made a sign to place next to his work for the other children to see as they walked around for their parade. I was fortunate to be a volunteer in the classroom on this day. I was able to participate in the parade as the children walked around the four 1st grade classrooms to see all the products. Here is one of my favorites.

February 2 The day has finally come...Dustin started instructional basketball today. He is eager to learn and get the instruction on this new-to-him sport. Traditionally a baseball man, he is picking up this sport as quickly as all the others he participates in. The second week of practice his instructor pulls me aside and informs me that he "has a lot of natural talent, and he is a great listener. He follows direction well and is picking it up quickly."

On the very same day (Feb. 9th) Skylar's gymnastics instructor, Vladimir, told me that Skylar is "a strong athlete, she is a strong girl and does a great job." It was nice to see that my children were singled out for a positive reason. My favorite to watch is Skylar on the beam. She shows such strong lines.

February 1
Then
Oh, the sweet arms and love that must be felt.
