Special Treat...
Today I was surprised with a special treat. I am embarrassed to say that it is a treat for me when someonelse's child is not feeling well, but I was surprised with a day off. I am not sure how to word that without it sounding like I am pleased by the discomfort of others but it is the day off that I am focusing on here. So with that said, I decided to treat my children to Dunkin Donuts as they were having a chocolate promotion. And any of you that know me, know that gets me in any door. It is nice to be able to sit in the sun and watch and talk about the people and goings on around us. The "driving dog" was an added perk to our day.
I can not believe that I am even going to post this next set of pictures. It is not because I am afraid of embarrassing anyone but that Kamden is even old enough to even be considering this milestone...
The other day as Kamden and I were hanging out together and I was posting on this very blog, he reached for the front of his pants and said, "Uh,oh...pee pee." I surely did not believe him till he grabbed my hand and started to pull me towards the changing pad. So I headed the opposite direction and went for the potty seat. I truly was not expecting him to go potty but from my experience with Dustin, if a child says it, you listen. Even if you do think they are too young. So we waited it out with a good book and, not to my surprise, he did not go, but he was not afraid of it either. He actually did not want me to take him off his throne. I am opposed to playing the potty game. I believe in waiting till they are ready to jump in feet first, no diapers, no pull-ups, no sitting and getting used to the potty...it is undies and done (except at night). So when we are showing more signs, we will attempt this again. I am in no way disappointed. My little bear is still such a little bear. But it does open my eyes to the fact that he is getting bigger and it does happen. Afterall, Dustin was fully potty trained in 3 days and he was 23 months, 1 week old. Although it did take Skylar a little more than a week, we did start training her on Valentine's Day, 3 weeks before her second birthday. So that puts Kamden on Dustin's birthday, if he follows the other two. The kids are so excited to be nearing such a fun stage. They are thrilled to see him growing even though Skylar and I still oooh, and ahhh over his baby pictures that come up on the screensaver on the computer.

Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves. Romans 12:9,10

  1. Even though we see it happening everyday, its still hard to believe how fast they grow up. I like that last photo.
