Together Time~Week 9

February 28
Dustin is pretending to play a racing game on t.v. and Kamden is pretending to play a horse racing game on Dustin.
February 26
Skylar and I were celebrating the upcoming event of Dr. Suess' Birthday by making hats. Reading is one of Skylar's FAVORITE activities and I do like some Green Eggs and Ham myself. Dustin thought it was cute to put the hat on while he brushed his teeth. Little did he know I was going to surprise him with a camera in his face. Silly child, you should have known that was coming. February 25
It's raining, it's poring... that means some happy kids who get to use those umbrellas that they long to use. February 24
Kamden was getting ready for some quiet time near Skylar and the daycare girls. When he hears it is quiet time he says, "Map, map." Then he zooms off calling out the names of the items he is going to get out of his room. "Lala, Elmo." February 23
Tuesdays are BUSY around here. Dustin, having to follow guidelines, had to be home for 24 hours on an antibiotic before returning to school from having strep throat. Since he had no symptoms for over 48 hours now, I brought him along for the day. He even said, "Moms are busy." This was his interpretation of my day. In such a scramble for the day, I did not take a picture until it came to a slow-down. Kamden did not get a nap for the day and this is one horse whose wheels were falling off. It took all he had to prop those eyes open to get his bubble treatment.
The kids were even thankful to have some down time to read a book.

February 22
I kept Dustin home today to bring him to the doctor, more out of curiosity than anything else. Afterall, his symptoms were gone. But he was feeling fine so we spent some time outside. Bet you can't guess what he wanted to play. With grass patches peeking up from the snow...must be just about baseball time, right? He has recruited another Garrison. And here is another one that is willing to play as often as you are willing to throw him the ball.
Who said taking 3 kids to a doctor's appointment was not fun? They look like they are just fine. The laughter coming from the room probably implied that there was not a sick one in the bunch.
February 21
Kamden has moved up to a big boy chair. With limited space in our kitchen, we held off on this until we felt it was due time. Now it is fun to see who will get to sit next to him at each meal.
Opps, I got caught taking a Sunday nap. The boys came right up and snuggled me. I was multi-tasking, the phone is hiding under that hand on the pillow.
"He will yet fill your mouth with laughter and your lips with shouts of joy."

Week 8

Puddle People...
The ground seemed too wet to play outside today due to the warmer temperatures melting the snow in the backyard and turning it into a swamp. But then we heard the tree cutters and had to go take a peak. Kamden quickly spotted the marshy puddles in the grass and I could not tell him, "No." I does not miss a chance to "plash" in bodies of water. One had to know that it was only a matter of time before the hands wanted to join in on the fun...

Then in the same token, to know that it was the same fact, that someone would fall down in it...
His play sparked the curiosity of the other two and before you knew it all three of them were making snow mud pies and artistic creations.Skylar seems to be playing it safe this time but this little girl is not afraid to get dirty. I like the dress that she had to hold up out of the dress and the tiny little finger dipping into the mud puddle.
Dustin was hard at work turning white ice chunks into brown artwork.
Skylar is deep in thought about the masterpiece snow creation she is working on. I could not choose between the next few shots. I know to many, they may all seem the same but to me it just shows how big this beautiful little girl is getting. The intensity on her face is enough to make you freeze on each image of her.

This was a pile of grass that matted its way into the bottom of a flower pot. Skylar thought it could be a bird's nest. She was excited to show it off.
Kamden moved onto playing peak-a-boo in the house. What a cute picture opportunity.

February 19
So I thought I would not have any good shots for the day. Then, in order to give myself a second to do some laundry while the kids were home on vacation, I decided to put in the Disney Bingo dvd that was given to us. Skylar wanted to share with me each character that she recognized. As she pointed out the bear from Jungle Book we realized that both her Nana and Grandma Sherwood had the same favorite movie. Then she pointed out that so familiar deer, Bamboo. I could not help but laugh. I soon realized that there are no days that I should be without a picture to recall those moments that pass so quickly. There are no such days, as days with no good pictures. As long as one is taken and a memory is savored, it shall be called, good.
"So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness."

Sweet Children

I cannot take credit for the pictures in this specific post. They are the creative efforts of my dear friend. She is passionate about photography and is practicing whenever she can, gaining more and more experiences before the Lord reveals His timing, to her, for her to start her photography business. I am so blessed to have my children as her subjects.

Though not shared by many, we do also share a love for children's feet. I feel like they are so innocent and precious. Do know that I do not use the word "love" so freely but I do so love those tiny toes on the feet of my children.
How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, "Your God reigns!" Isaiah 52:7

February 18
Today we went to a dear friend's house as we had the pleasure of sitting down for a mini photo shoot of the kids. She has a wonderful eye for pictures and the patience to learn how to use her camera. I am a visual learner so she agreed to teach me a little on the spot. In the midst of trying to settle the three kids, I tried to grab my camera and snap a shot or two. This is what I got. I am also learning how to do the edits on them. I am so excited to be able to capture them at this time and feel so blessed to have the means for which to do it with.
After we were done, I took the kids for our picnic lunch, in the van, at the airport. We like to watch the incoming planes but there weren't any this day due to the wind. I did not realize how windy it was until we got out of the van to take a few pictures and the kids were freezing. Sorry guys. I was able to snap a few quick ones of them snuggling together to keep warm.
Little did I realize that Dustin was twice as cold as he was suffering from strep. How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity! Psalm 133:1

February 17

We were glad to have atleast one snowy day during February vacation. Dustin and I built a snow fort for each of us and had a snowball fight. Bombs away.Skylar is teaching Kamden how dogs eat snow. (As long as no dog has peed in the snow.)
Imagine if you could still bend that low. Kamden bent himself right in half, down to his toes, to eat the snow.
