Christmas Day, Part I and Part II

With a family of many sides, we celebrate Christmas Day in three stages. It has taken a few years to get this down but it seems to make the most sense for anyone with small children. After years of rushing through Christmas morning with our own children, then loading up two sets of grandparents gifts, running to one grandparent's house, then over to the last for dinner, then finally arriving home after reloading gifts from grandparents... that exhausts me just thinking of it, we settle on the "traveling grandparent" idea.

We celebrate Christmas morning in a leasurly waking, opening presents slowly, and able to take the time to see each child pass out the gifts that they so desired to buy eachother, kind of way. I enjoy that part.
This is the bear Skylar made for Dustin.

I can shower before anyone comes and I (or Kamden) can clear some of the mess.

The kids even have time to play with what they have gotten before company comes.Big kid here with the family's Wii.

So this year Grandpa G.G. and Grammy Nome were the travelers. It is so nice to sit back and watch them as they see the kids in their element. They really liked their 2010 calendar filled with the kids' pictures. Skylar, although she has seen it a million times, liked looking through it with grandpa.
I am not sure what Kamden liked the most, his very own soccer ball, the Elmo sweatshirt that he would not take off, or Dustin's dart shooter, aka "the binger" now.

One of the best parts for Grammy Nome is getting to see her grand-doy, Sydney. She was sure to catch Skylar snuggling her up.
