While the Kids Are Away

Now that the big kids are off to school (remember this is 2010), we have started our fall walks. We threw rocks in the pond, I can still hear your voice telling me the rocks are all gone... went on a leaf hunt, threw leaves, crunched them, and even saw deer along our walks, two days in a row. But of course, not when we had the camera. It's ok, I got pictures of my Little Bear. 9/19 ~
"Mommy, my belly hurts. Can I have a bandaid?" If only it were all that easy. 9/29So, unintentionally, my mom got me a bit concerned about Kamden's "lazy eye". We got to talking and she mentioned that that is how my grandmother became blind in her eye, by an unattended to, lazy eye. So immediately I got right on scheduling an appointment. This led to a referral to an eye specialist. We were very pleased with the office and even more pleased with the results. Kamden does not have a lazy eye but rather a lazy lid which did not cause much concern for the doctor. He will indeed watch him over time but was not concerned that it was going to affect his vision, might have a slight astigmatism which may require glasses down the line but even that was not a guarantee. Glad to know. 10/8
I was nominated as the coolest mom by a father who saw me letting Kamden slosh in the deep rain puddle. Oh, how happy Kamden became when it rained. Thomas was on his feet and he expected puddles. 10/15 Sometimes it is just finding the small things to do, that are fun with you. This is Kamden as he watches the water fall at Mansfield Hollow. Just the sweet look on his face is priceless. The daily blessings from the Lord are just that, priceless. 10/15 "See that water, mommy?"...

I know this is not the most clear picture but it was so much fun to realize that sometimes you just have to stop and have a snack, even if it is in the middle of the C.T.Shop at one of the tables they are selling.
Dustin and Skylar had school pictures today. So we had our own picture day. I still have a lot to learn but it was fun and I did get a shot good enough to hang on the wall with the kids' yearly pics. We started off kind of on the shy side. Then before you knew it, he had his own opinion on what he wanted to wear and it was not this jacket. 10/18

Meet Monkey Too. Kamden was watching a youtube video of Monkey See, Monkey Do. In the video the monkey states, "monkey see, monkey do, with all of you. It's a copy cat video. He heard the song as, "Monkey, Too. I love you." Thus became our way of saying, "I Love You."

Monkey Too, Little Bear.
