Animal Lovers

Somewhere Around The Beginin' O' The Month

So we get out of the van and we spot our "skitish" cat, Grayce. She doesn't mind being pet but you have to advance slowly. Our little sunshine has such a way with animals and is very respectful of Grayce's personality. I think the two of them have a mutual respect and understanding of eachother. Once they know you, you are fine. But don't come a runnin' at me.

Kamden, on the other hand, loves cats but is still learning the appropriate means of approach for each one that graces our yard. Usually he sqeals "Keeey" as the cat runs the other way. (We have only 2 according to the vet bills, Disco and Grayce. According to the food bills: we have Slick, Momma, Pooper, Grassy Cat, Jack, Shadow, Fred, Beard Cat and the 3 kittens from next door; Puffer and Baby Gray Kitties.) No wonder Kamden's 2nd word was "key".

Skylar, with her gentle, nurturing side, is trying to teach him.

Nana Comes To Visit

I know, I know...you are only a month behind, Andrea. Wow, is that a lot of work when you wait that long to upload the pictures for the month.

Nana was welcomed with exceptionally large arms this visit. She came down right at the start of nap time, which in itself is worthy of a giant hug from a "supposed to be nappin" little girl. Then for Skylar to catch a glimpse of Nana's new friend, made it even harder to convince her and her daycare friend to lay as quiet as possible, just for an hour so I can collect my thoughts.

Enters Abigail...

For this animal lover, you could not get any better, a cute, soft, able to hold and carry, DOG!!!

Kamden has also taken a lovin' to her. He likes to carry her the best he can. Usually it requires an adult to pry Kamden's arms from the choke hold grip he has on her. Then he gets sad that we are taking the accomplishment away from him. But look mommy, I am so big.

Dustin tried not to let on that he had any particular liking to her. But he did put up a fairly strong request to hold her longer when we were picking him up at school. Once he had his fill, Skylar carried that little, white dog around like it was one of her stuffed animals that she is so famous for toting. Needless to say, she did not leave this one in a leaf pile or sandy corner of the playground. She took very gentle care of her, even when she took her for a ride on the swings.
Thanks for sharing, Nana.
