Kamden was quick to volunteer to make chocolate chip cookies. We teasingly requested he not break the mixer, as he and daddy had done the last baking session. Opps, when they overheated a second mixer, killing our last one. "I didn't do it, mommy."

There are days I wish I could still enjoy a bath this much.

Kamden's newest thing is to set all his animals up before he goes to bed. I was surprised to walk into the room and see two sets of eyes looking at me from the same pillow. (Daddy's old stuffed animal in the background from when he was a kid.)

One of the events that brings tears to my eyes is snow. Not that I don't like snow, I actually do. It is a mandatory exercise program for me. It is more because it makes us miss our "big D". Disco use to come running to find a warm lap to sit on when we would play in the snow. But in his absence, his sister, Grayce, tries the best she can to fill his shoes. She will come and let you pet her but will not let you hold her. The kids were thrilled just to be able to pet her this long.
Well, that petting turning into this...She could not have made this little girl happier. Disco used to sleep with Skylar when he was inside and 6 months later and Skylar still finds nights that she cries herself to sleep, missing him. So when Grayce was willing to share some snuggling love, Skylar was eager to allow. Thank you, Grayce. (She has been inside from this date until this date being posted on 2/3.) She goes into Skylar's room every night at bedtime then comes to sit on my chest to wake me with her little white paws in my face each morning. I enjoy the sweet sound of her purring. I am a cat lady myself.

Youth group's outer space night...An alien on fire for Jesus. "My heart for Jesus, is out of this world."

Olympic gymnast, Shannon Miller, was at Skylar's new gym taking autographs and doing pictures. Though none of the kids were old enough to be woken up at 10 o'clock at night to watch her, they were super excited to meet an Olympian who did what they wish to do. I think all of us parents were living an extra moment through our children. :)
“People listened to me expectantly waiting in silence for my counsel. After I had spoken, they spoke no more; my words fell gently on their ears. They waited for me as for showers and drank in my words as the spring rain. When I smiled at them, they scarcely believed it; the light of my face was precious to them." Job 29:21-24
How cool about Shannon Miller!!
ReplyDeleteAmanda does that stuffed animal arranging, too.
Don't give up...stay with it! :) Carve out 5 min/day. Miss you!
